Several friends have kicked me in my rear about not getting out information about my upcoming speaking engagements. I have been invited to speak at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth on February 21st as part of their Black History Month Program. If you happen to be in southeastern Massachusetts or Rhode Island I would love to see you. My focus will be labor’s role in the struggle for jobs and freedom. This, being the 50th anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington, makes this a moment to reflect on organized labor, the Black Freedom Movement and the tasks today. The fact that it is February 21st means that i will also be speaking about Malcolm X, who, as you know, was murdered on February 21, 1965.
I hope that you can make it to the program!
